Confirmation
In the course of their Christian development, those baptized at an early age are expected, when they are ready and have been duly prepared, to make a mature public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their Baptism and to receive the laying on of hands by the bishop. (Book of Common Prayer, 412)
If you have been baptized and confirmed in a church that has this tradition, then you need only to be received by the Bishop to be formally recognized as a member of the Episcopal Church.
Alternately, if you were confirmed as a young person in the Episcopal Church and would like to renew your Confirmation vows, you may renew those in the presence of the Bishop during a visit.
